Summer Holiday Programme

Every summer we run a number of different courses and programmes aimed at different age ranges and giving prospective new students a taste of what the Centre has to offer.

Exploration of a Show in a week

This week long summer school runs 10-4pm Monday to Friday.
Students can be dropped off from 9am and picked up no later than 5pm
Ages 7-14years. Children require a packed lunch and plenty of water (no fizzy drinks permitted)
During the week, children get to explore, learn and rehearse a show focusing on singing, acting and dance with our excellent team of experienced professional tutors. We also include an element of staging and set creation as part of the experience. Although the focus is student led fun as a holiday activity, we still ensure the highest standards are reached by the children in performance.
There is a small showing of the week’s work to parents, friends and family on the Friday afternoon. This week is open to current students and the general public. It is a great way to try out our format and have a taste of what we are about if considering joining the main school.

Junior School Summer Activities

We also facilitate activities for 4-7years during the summer holidays
Our Workshop mornings for this age group are led by our early years Dance Team. Children spend two hours exploring a theme, or a show through games, song, dance and craft.
Our Disney mornings are exceptionally popular and children are encouraged to come dressed up in their favourite disney outfit for these workshops. It is a great way to activate imaginations, improve independence and self-confidence and make friends for little ones.

Musical Theatre Workshops

These workshops are for ages 13yrs+
These are intensive, higher level workshop days (10am - 3.30pm) where students can book in for what day they fancy or for the whole week. The week as a whole is obviously the complete course and what we would recommend for the full benefit. The week is Musical Theatre focused with a different skill and aspect looked at each day.

We have the option of technical theatre on the tuesday, wednesday and thursday - which is led by Ian Barnard our new production manager.  This is an introduction and understanding of Lighting, Sound, Stage Management and production in Musical Theatre This week is ideal for those more serious about developing their Musical Theatre training.

Technical Workshop weeks

Workshop Days exploring all aspects of technical theatre, specifically sound and lighting. These workshops are led by our Production Manager Ian Barnard. Ian lectures at Welsh College and has many years experience as a professional sound designer.
